It's not just a few minutes of needle time. A $120 tattoo still includes a sterile, single-use setup, quality ink, an experienced artist's time to do the linework and shading properly, and the aftercare guidance to make sure it heals right.

Why we don't suggest cheaping out on tattoos

A tattoo is permanent, and a bargain price usually means a corner got cut somewhere — sterilization, ink quality, or the artist's actual skill level. The real cost of a cheap tattoo often shows up later: fading, blown-out lines, or needing a cover-up down the road, which ends up costing far more than doing it right the first time.
