If you've ever sat across from us with a photo open on your phone of a pet who isn't here anymore, you already know this isn't a conversation we take lightly. Losing a pet is a real loss — not a smaller one, not a practice one. It's something my household deals with from two different angles: I make that loss permanent in ink, and my wife Jess sits with people while the loss is still raw, before anyone's thinking about a tattoo at all. This piece is really written from both o

Looking for an affordable tattoo in Oshawa without gambling on quality? Tal is our most budget-friendly artist at $120/hour, and here's what that actually gets you at Mor Ink.

Even a well-done tattoo can fade, soften, or heal unevenly in a few spots. Here's when a touch-up actually makes sense, and what affects whether you'll need one. Why Tattoos Sometimes Need a Touch-Up Skin type, placement, sun exposure, and aftercare all affect how a tattoo settles. Areas with more friction or movement, like hands, feet, or joints, are more prone to patchy healing than flatter, more protected areas. Fine line and lighter color work are also more likely to need

Matching tattoos are one of the most requested reasons couples, friends, and family members book together at Mor Ink. Here's how to plan one without it becoming complicated. Popular Matching Tattoo Ideas Identical tattoos aren't the only option. Complementary designs, two halves of one image, coordinated symbols, or the same concept done in each person's preferred style, tend to age better and feel more personal than a literal copy-paste design. Booking Together: What to Know

Most shops ask you to send a reference image weeks in advance and hand you a pre-drawn stencil on the day. Mor Ink works differently — here's what actually happens between booking and getting tattooed. Step 1: Bring Your Moment Instead of a fully locked-in design sent over email, clients are asked to bring "a moment" — the feeling, memory, or idea behind the piece, along with any reference photos. This gives the artist real material to design around, rather than pricing and d

Small, delicate tattoos have become one of the most requested styles at Mor Ink — but "fine line" and "micro" aren't quite the same thing, and knowing the difference helps you set the right expectations before you book. What Is a Micro Tattoo A micro tattoo refers to size — a very small design, often just an inch or two, like a tiny symbol, word, or minimalist icon. Micro tattoos can be done in a bold, solid line or a fine line, but their defining feature is their scale. Fine

An old tattoo you've outgrown doesn't have to mean laser removal. A well-planned cover-up can turn a piece you regret into something you're actually excited about — but not every tattoo can be covered the same way. What Makes a Tattoo Coverable Coverability depends on the existing tattoo's size, ink density, and color. Small, lighter, black & grey pieces are generally the easiest to work with. Large, solid-color, or very dark tattoos need a bigger, bolder new design to fully

Picking who tattoos you matters more than the design itself. A great reference photo can turn into a bad tattoo in the wrong hands, and a simple idea can become something special with the right artist. Here's what's actually worth checking before you book in Oshawa. Start With the Portfolio, Not the Price Look past fresh, just-finished photos and look for healed work — tattoos a few months or years old show you how an artist's linework and shading actually hold up. Look for c

Not sure what style is right for your next piece?
