Booking your first tattoo can feel like a big step. At Mor Ink Tattoo & Piercing in Oshawa, we want you to walk in feeling excited, not anxious. Here's exactly what to expect from the moment you book to the moment you leave with fresh ink.
Before You Arrive: The Design Process
Unlike many shops, our artist Mor designs your tattoo with you, on the day of your appointment, rather than over back-and-forth emails weeks in advance. Come prepared with a "moment" - a photo, memory, or idea that means something to you. From there, Mor builds a completely custom piece designed specifically for your body and your story. There's no charge for design time, and you book the full day, so there's no rush.
What to Bring and How to Prepare
Get a good night's sleep, eat a solid meal beforehand, and stay hydrated. Wear comfortable clothing that gives easy access to the area being tattooed. If you have reference photos, bring them along, even if they're just inspiration rather than something you want copied exactly.
During the Appointment
Once your design is finalized, you'll get a stencil placement to approve before any ink touches your skin. Our studio is clean, welcoming, and our artists are happy to check in throughout the session. Tattooing sensations vary by body placement. Common areas like the outer arm tend to be more comfortable, while ribs, hands, and feet are more sensitive. Your artist will keep you posted on progress and breaks are always okay.
Aftercare Basics
You'll leave with a fresh bandage and clear aftercare instructions. In general: keep it clean, moisturized, out of the sun, and avoid soaking it in water for the first couple of weeks. For our full aftercare guide, check out the Aftercare page on our site.
